WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS

The substances that are not cleared, known as Glycosphingolipids (Globotriaosylceramide is the main one), are accumulated on the vessel walls (veins, capillaries, arteries) of the whole body. Consequently, symptoms may be diffuse and may theoretically worsen with the passing of time. To better understand the course of the disease, the tables below show the potential clinical manifestation of Fabry disease in childhood, adolescence and adulthood. Not all the affected patients always suffer from the reported symptoms; afterall, the absence of a symptom does not mean it will not appear at a later stage.
